Poetry - pretty hard to swallow...right?
Not necessarily. The advanced German course of BG22b was able to see this for itself last Thursday in the Jahr100Haus at the Molfsee Open-Air Museum.
We were guests there for the poetry performance ‘Heimaten in der Sprache’ (= homes in language) and came to the following realisations:
1. Poetry doesn't have to be difficult. It can touch us and carry us away, even (or especially) when it takes up serious topics.
2. Language can also be home.
3. There are people who can memorise more than ten poems at once. Just like Anna Magdalena Bössen, a qualified reciter who impressed and moved us with her presentation.
4 It's always worth trying out something you haven't done before.
We had a great evening!
