Ciao Agrigento!
This week, the RBZ am Königsweg braved the onset of fall with Sicilian fire. Six teachers from Agrigento visited our school from Monday to Thursday and not only exchanged cultural differences and similarities, but also made plans for an exchange to Sicily. Even if the lessons there seem to have a different focus...
“When are we going to get to Chaucer, Shakespeare and Beowulf?”, asked an Italian English teacher when she found herself observing our English lessons between Barbie and English-language discussions on feminism and gender stereotypes. But alongside these differences, the similarities were also emphasized: Pedagogia e psicologia? We teach them! Informatica e matematica? We teach them both in one subject! The language comparison between Italian and Spanish also showed once again: Europe - they go together!
In addition to a few other times sitting in on classes, the group from Sicily of course also had a Kiel experience away from the school: They hopped on and off the red bus, took the ferry to Laboe and of course tasted various culinary highlights.
I wonder what the fish sandwich in Agrigento tastes like? We'll find out...
